I’ve been a ‘jeweler’ for almost 2 years now. I use the term jeweler awkwardly because it just doesn’t feel right. I know - I make things that people wear that usually fall into the jewelry category. But do they really belong there? I feel like it’s more about the photos. I try to make the pieces simple… uncomplicated shapes and clear backgrounds so that the image is the first and maybe the only thing you notice.
Aaaaanyways…. I’ve always had a thing for rings… even more than necklaces or earrings, which is what I’ve been making this whole time. I hadn’t yet figured out a way to make them and have them be my own style and still go along with the simple clean lines that would sit well next to the rest of the pieces I make.
I have just finished a couple samples… and it’s really exciting to see them!
Not for sale yet! But I promise I’ll let you know when.
I’ve redone the whole site. Hopefully it’s a little easier and a little more fun to navigate around!
See you all at the Canamade market starting this Thursday at 151 W Cordova Street from 11am to 8pm everyday. Black Drop will be there from Thursday the 11th to Tuesday the 16th.

I’ve just finished a batch of shiny and new layer pieces for the Canamade show coming up.
These pieces have an extra image embedded in resin on top of the original image. I’m hoping you can tell how much more three dimensional they look in the photos!
See you in Gastown this weekend! 151 W Cordova Street (the old Storeyum) Friday from 4-9pm, Saturday from 11am-9pm, Sunday from 11am-5pm.

Miscellaneous.

A bunch of years ago I was traveling a lot. And for some weird and coincidental reason, I used to have airplane shadows cross over me pretty frequently… well, not every day, but 4 or 5 times it happened and I felt like every time it happened to me, that I was destined to be on a plane in a short time…. but it hasn’t happened recently. The chances of a plane crossing exactly between the sun and you at any given point have to be pretty slim… or maybe I’m just being dramatic. Anyways, I haven’t flown in a while. Tonight I watched some airplane lights descend into the city from the beautiful view that we have in our backyard and I remembered flying and the excitement that came with visiting a new place for a while.
The boyfriend just got back from flying (a lot) and is currently sleeping off the jet lag. He brought me an amazing handmade journal from Germany… complete with crows and pencil and repurposed euro notes inside. I love it. Especially the ‘to be continued’ note at the very end.

Miscellaneous.
I’ve been very busy lately with lots of preparation for the shows have happened and for Canamade coming up. So, since I’m still running on the momentum from the last couple months, when I finally got to give myself a day off it didn’t really feel like I could relax.
Meet my new coffee table. The fanciness of this coffee table is directly linked to how much work I get done on it. Next, my desk.
See you all at Canamade – 151 West Cordova Street (the old Storeum) December 4th (4pm-9pm) 5th (11am-9pm) and 6th (12pm-5pm)

The One of a Kind Show Vancouver has been and gone for another year. It was definitely a beautiful show. Thanks to everyone who came and to all of the very-talented vendors and their countless hours of work for this fabulous 4-day show. Black Drop will be there again next year October 7th to 10th at Canada Place.
See you in Victoria next at the Creative Craft Fair - Pearkes Arena, 3100 Tillicum Road November 13th to 15th.

New Products.
Excited about the new pieces.
Wood!
This one in particular is part of the Hollywood Series From a beautiful Holly tree on Denman Island, BC, salvaged from this amazing woman’s property. Thank-you Tony.

Wow. Has it really been so long since I last gave this blog some love?

I’ve been getting ready for the One of A Kind Vancouver Show coming up this October 8-11 at Canada Place so it’s been a busy summer with the Granville Island Public Market and stocking up to be ready for the upcoming Christmas season. The One of a Kind show is a little earlier and at a different location than it was last year so don’t miss it! It’s a beautiful show with so many talented artists. See you there!
