I believe everyone should be able to be who they are and love who they love… not only allowed to but encouraged and celebrated for doing so.
These Pride Pendants were created as one way to celebrate and support our LGBTQ community. Half of the money from sale of each Pride Pendant will go to support Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Queer resources.

I am very excited to announce that there is a new shop coming to the River Market in New Westminster. Located on the Quay, just outside the New Westminster skytrain station in a beautiful shopping area on the water will be Tiny Finery. We will be opening July 7th. Tiny Finery will be a dedicated gift shop with items lovingly created and also items lovingly sourced by myself and two lovely talented businessladies.
For the last little while I’ve been daydreaming about collaborating and having a space with other like-minded and motivated artists. It’s amazing what happens when you ask for something. I didn’t know what form it would take or when it would happen, but it’s here now and the three of us are going for it!
For more information you can go to www.tinyfinery.ca. We look forward to seeing you there!

New Products.
I’ve given myself some time in the last month or so to work on some new ideas that I’ve had in my mind for awhile. With help from Joseph, a great ceramic artist and friend at Granville Island, I have learned about working with clay and getting my pieces fired. The next challenge was to figure out the best way to get the photograph onto the fired pieces and now I’m finally happy with the result…
These new pendants are hung on a 36-inch gunmetal chain. I’ve been test-driving the first piece for the past few weeks and I’m excited to say it’s passed. (There will be earrings to follow for the earring people out there.) See the photo below!

So last month the boyfriend and I flew to Paris. We decided we’d had enough dreamy and hypothetical conversations about it and that it was time to actually go. We stayed with good friends who shared their couch and their city and before long, Paris felt like home.

A few days in, we took the train to Amsterdam because the closeness and coolness of that city were too good to pass up. It rained all over us there, but it was always easy to find an adorable pub to dry off in. Also, there were giant pancakes!

We ate so much good food, drank so much cheap and delicious wine, walked forever, fumbled our way through the language and saw so much. I’m sure everyone I know is still tired of me thinking out loud about the trip.

Home now, and back to work. I’ll have a few new pieces made from some of the images from our trip when I’m at Granville Island this Friday and Saturday the 11th and 12th. Also, it’s Valentine’s Day on the 14th so come buy some Black Drops for someone you love (or like a lot). See you then!

Miscellaneous.

This is (was?) my summer: sitting at Granville Island, surrounded by other artists and visitors from all over the world, making grocery lists and sipping delicious cold fruit tea from the Granville Island Tea Company out of giant mason jars. Does this have to end?

I’ve been a ‘jeweler’ for almost 2 years now. I use the term jeweler awkwardly because it just doesn’t feel right. I know - I make things that people wear that usually fall into the jewelry category. But do they really belong there? I feel like it’s more about the photos. I try to make the pieces simple… uncomplicated shapes and clear backgrounds so that the image is the first and maybe the only thing you notice.
Aaaaanyways…. I’ve always had a thing for rings… even more than necklaces or earrings, which is what I’ve been making this whole time. I hadn’t yet figured out a way to make them and have them be my own style and still go along with the simple clean lines that would sit well next to the rest of the pieces I make.
I have just finished a couple samples… and it’s really exciting to see them!
Not for sale yet! But I promise I’ll let you know when.
